Chapter 27: Part One: Near Death Experience

This is both a sad and happy update.

Happy as in this is a great part of the story, I am sure you will enjoy it. Sad as in my collaborator and I are no longer speaking, Jamie/Osanna and I have parted ways. I am going to do the right things and leave her name and info here until I come to the part where she quit writing, then I will remove it. I will continue the fic on my own, unless anyone wants to collab with me. Thank you for understanding.

He tried to sit up, his chest filled with liquid fire, he felt as if he were going to wretch, throw up all over the place but he held it back, swallowed, the pain was excruciating, like nothing he had ever felt before. He closed his eyes as his vision swam, he was seeing double, triple of everything. The dizziness, the nausea, what in the hell was going on. He no longer felt his legs, they were numb and rubbery, as if the bones had been removed, or had turned to liquid. The numb feeling was spreading up his body; at present it was gaining control over his waist and hips.

Soon, he wouldnt be able to move at all, and he would lie there and die in pain.... and silence.

He clutched at his throat again, clawed at it as if trying to extricate the offending substance. Then logic finally kicked in, followed by reality. He had to tell someone, he didn't have a choice, and there was only one person in this entire school he trusted.

Could he get there in time?

Draco threw his robes on over his boxers, that was all he could do, he didnt have the energy nor the ability to get fully dressed. With that, ignoring the fact that he couldnt feel his legs he took off at a brisk sprint across the school grounds, he fell out of the hole in the portrait and stumbled forward a few feet before he finally regained his feet and started off for Ivy and Osanna's cottage, she could do something...she HAD to!

It was by sheer force of will that he even made it out of the castle, he was covered in sweat, only the sweat was now blood, and it covered his face and arms in a dull sheet. He could see their cottage across the grounds, even if he was seeing two...no, wait, THREE cottages instead of one. He could make it, he HAD to make it.

Forcing himself to move, he put one foot in front of the other, trying desperately not to trip over his own feet. Blood sweat fell into his eyes making it nearly impossible to see. He made his way on instinct alone, just allowing himself to be drawn towards what he desperately hoped was the right direction.

He wiped furiously at his eyes, only.... a few.... more.... feet.............

Perhaps only an arm's length from their door he collapsed. NO! He had to get up, but his limbs wouldnt allow it, he could feel his heart slowing...

It was then that he did it, he had no other choice, he screamed, screamed for all he was worth, even if it felt like it was tearing his throat raw.

"OH GOD IVY! OSANNA HELP ME! IVYYYYYY! HELP MEEEE!"

Ivy and Osanna were both peacefully asleep; George and his superior dragon senses however were always on call. He tilted his head ever so slightly and began pawing Ivy, gently at first then in a more urgent manner as Draco's screams became softer and softer.

"IVY P...please...."

Something jolted Ivy awake, perhaps it was George, or perhaps it was the feeling that something just wasnt right. Whatever it was, she opened her eyes in a dull haze. What in the hell was..?

"I...V.... Y..."

She blinked several times, Draco's voice? It must be a...wait, this was no dream. Her sleepy mind bolted into action and she grabbed Osanna and shook her so hard she left bruises on her friends shoulders.

"WHAT WHAT WHAT?" Osanna screamed, trying to stop Ivy from shaking her.

Ivy could say nothing for a moment, she stared blankly at Osanna as if she had fallen mute, her eyes however were filled with terror.

"I.........Iv..."

Osanna heard it and turned towards their window. "Draco?" She leapt off the bed and was quickly followed by Ivy who got there first in her worried haste.

Ivy opened the window and peered down, indeed, there lay Draco, his eyes closed, blood upon his face, he was a ghastly whitish-blue color...he looked dead, however, with his last bit of energy Draco managed to look up, and he saw her standing there, he tried to speak but words failed him, he could only give a look of desperation before fading out.
