Chapter 28: Part One : Death Defeated

I THANK YOU ALL sincerely for the support, I have been slacking in answering G-Book messages, but next update I will, I swear, I have 5 personal diaries to update as well, so it gets to be a bit of a strain. In any case, please keep leaving messages, and thanks for your support, as I said, Osanna may be gone, but I will continue by myself.

She jumped up from the couch and actually leapt over it in her struggle to get to the table. She was terrified she would find him dead.

Upon closer inspection however he was moaning, in pain most likely but his color had returned and his eyelids were fluttering open. Draco was indeed doing much better, his vision was swimming, and he had to fight back another round of nausea, but he could feel his limbs at least, and his heartbeat had returned to normal. He groaned loudly and sat up taking a deep breath, it was the first he had taken in hours.

As he did so, the first thing he saw was Ivy, there before his eyes...his vision swam again and he blinked several times. Was it really her? Or was this all a feverish dream? He couldnt remember what happened, it was all a blur...

"Draco! Draco!"

He felt her hands upon his face, touching him, checking his temperature, he sighed softly and laid back, allowing her to do whatever she needed to. She loosened his robe to check his heartbeat only to giggle softly.

Draco sat upright again, only to have Ivy push him back down.

"You need to rest Draco...dont sit up so fast, you'll get dizzy..."

She then set about fetching him something to drink, still giggling...Draco had apparently forgotten to dress himself last night, the only thing beneath his robe were his boxers.

Osanna managed to awaken herself then and smiled at Ivy and the semi-conscious Draco. "You see Ivy, I PROMISED you he would be all right."

Ivy smiled and nodded. "Indeed you did...." She handed the glass of cold pumpkin juice to Draco who swallowed it down in one gulp, his body dehydrated.

Osanna patted Draco's hand. "Merry Christmas.... Ivy and I saved your life.... and now were going to fix breakfast. Has your nausea passed enough to eat? You need your strength back."

He nodded and sat upright; he wavered a bit but used his hands to steady himself. Ivy brushed past him on her way to the kitchen, she still wore only the robe Osanna had slipped on her last night, and nothing underneath, Draco's eyes nearly fell from their sockets as she passed by, the robe was not tied very tightly and he saw perhaps a good deal more than was intended.

Osanna caught this as well and giggled all the way to the kitchen, making a mental note to tell Ivy later, when Draco was out of earshot.

The two women worked in the kitchen, making four Swiss and mushroom omelets, hash browns and cheese, French toast and a few of Ivy's scones with jam and sugar, as well as a tall pitcher of pumpkin juice.

"What do you think happened to him?" Ivy asked as she spread butter on the scones.

Osanna paused, then shrugged. "Well it was poison, I can tell you that much, it's more like WHO did it...."

Ivy's eyes narrowed and she nodded. "I intend to find out who it was."

Osanna nodded. "Oh by all means, I cant allow anyone to mess with the object of my affection's object of affection can I?"

Ivy snorted loudly and Osanna duly ignored it as she waved her wand, the breakfast marching itself to the table in an orderly manner, followed by silverware, glasses and the juice.

Ivy smiled as Draco, despite his weakness pulled out her chair for her, which was conveniently next to the chair he had claimed for himself.

Osanna winked at Ivy, then turned her attention to Draco, who was busy wolfing down his food, he was apparently starved.

"Draco, do you have any idea what happened?"

Draco wiped his mouth on the napkin in his lap and shrugged. "Im not entirely sure..."

He pushed away his empty plate and thought, where had it all started?

THE CHOCOLATES!

My mother sent me a box of chocolates, thats all I ate yesterday, it started just after that. I thought that I had just eaten too much.

Osanna hung her head slightly, looking at Draco through her hair as it flopped over her face, Are there any left?

Draco rummaged through his robes and pulled out a chocolate frog and handed it to her. She took it and went to a cupboard, taking out a bottle of her own homemade poison detector, with which she tested all of their food, she let a drop fall on the frog. A blue smoke rose and there was a hissing sound. She turned to Draco and sighed, Im afraid they were laced with an exceptionally strong poison. You are lucky you got to us when you did, a few more minutes and you would have been dead. Narcissa must have done it. She trailed off as Dracos face contorted into a mask of horror and disgust.

Ivy went to him and wrapped her arms around him, drawing him into her.
